2018 has been a fantastic year for Sarah Waddington Solicitors, especially with regards to the Clausula Suelos claims / Floor Clause claims we have been working on.
We have seen some incredible progress over the year, with cases against many of the largest Spanish banks successfully completed, and refunds back to the clients for the interest they over paid.
The banks we have settled against include:
Almost €40,000 has been returned back to our clients as a result of these settlements, with one client’s refund totalling €17,000.
As many of you know these cases have had some issues in the Spanish legal system, with the courts being inundated with claims, so much so that there is a large backlog of cases still waiting to be heard. Earlier this year we saw some good news when additional courts were set up to solely deal with these cases. Since then we have seen an increase in momentum which is only promising for our clients.
The banks are notoriously difficult to work with, something our legal team are only too familiar with. But with the recent large settlements from some of the largest banks in Spain, we are excited for what 2019 will bring as we see them settle more cases for our clients in coming months.
In recent months we have seen many claims being rejected by courts, for unprofessionally presented paperwork lodged by inadequate firms. The courts are using this as a reason to dismiss claims, meaning that some people have had to re start their cases. This puts them to the back of the queue at the courts. At Sarah Waddington Solicitors, we pride ourselves on our professionalism and are pleased, yet unsurprised, to have never had this happen to us. Make sure you instruct a firm you can trust to represent you in the best possible way.
It is still not too late to start your claim and ensure you log your case in the Spanish courts before it becomes too late, so if you think you might have a valid mortgage, even if you no longer own the property, get in touch with a member of our team and we can look into this on your behalf. We can still help you if you no longer have any of the required paperwork. You can contact us on 01924 675 039.
